Meet the Winners – InSource

The trophies have been given out, toasts have been made and the canapés have been eaten. After four fantastic global events recognizing the work of organizations and individuals across the cloud industry, the Digital Revolution Awards 2023 season has come to a close.

Throughout the Digital Revolution Awards 2023 events, we saw many outstanding winners take the stage, receiving a round of applause for making a positive impact on our world through the use of cloud technology.

Now it’s time to shine a spotlight on some of those worthy victors and showcase the fantastic work that made them winners in the Digital Revolution Awards.

For this Meet the Winners blog, we chatted with InSource President Mark LaFond about winning our Best ServiceNow Partner to Work For award (Global), and find out what makes InSource such a great place to work.

What makes a ServiceNow partner organization a great place to work? Simple—one that invests in its people, just like this year’s winner.

InSource has enjoyed fantastic results by putting its people at the center of everything they do and understanding their central role in helping the company achieve its goals.

Offering top-quality training, certification, and development opportunities for its employees, the company supports the growth of the ServiceNow talent pool by advancing both existing talent and new technologists through its graduate and internship programmes.

This supportive and inclusive environment has enabled it to build and retain a diverse workforce that reflects the customers it works with.

“We’re extremely pleased to win the North American award for Best ServiceNow Partner to Work For. It’s a great testimonial for our organization that we have a fantastic culture and a fantastic group of people working here. It’s a testament to them and their hard work: our product is our people and our implementation services.

“We’re based right outside of Philidelphia, Pennsylvania,” said Mark. “We’ve been in business since 2000, starting out as an IT staffing firm and for the past 10-plus years, as a ServiceNow Elite Partner.”

Being a ServiceNow Elite Partner, InSource follows a simple business philosophy: to devote its talent and technology to creating superior services and solutions that maximize their clients’ efficiency, security, and productivity.

And InSource knows that its people are absolutely key to achieving these goals, which is why the company continues to invest in training, tools, and multiple career development programs.

As an Authorized ServiceNow Training Partner, InSource’s employees are trained at the highest ServiceNow level, and have earned over 100 ServiceNow certifications to date.

As well as upskilling existing talent, InSource has also developed internal programs to bring new ServiceNow professionals into the ecosystem and help them grow.

“We’ve had tremendous success obtaining talent through various programs, says Mark. “We have a university program where we hire people each year, we train them, we put them into our program and we career develop them.”

The company’s ServiceNow University Training hires recent college graduates as Technical Consultants and puts them on the track to becoming a full-time employee, either of InSource or one of its customers.

“We also have the SkillBridge program that we’re very proud of where we take veterans who are looking to end their term in the military. When they’re about six months out, we bring them on as interns, train them in ServiceNow, and then hire them once their military tenure is up.”

A Department of Defence initiative, SkillBridge provides members of the military who are within six to 12 months of ending their time in service with an internship around the ServiceNow ecosystem. In 2022, InSource took on 15 veterans for internships.

InSource also has multiple policies in place to help employees manage their health and wellbeing. The company’s workforce is 99% remote, offering employees a great work-life balance, as well as lowering the transportation costs and overall carbon footprint of the business.

To help employees stay engaged wherever they’re working from, the company’s leadership conducts monthly hands-on meetings featuring contests and prizes that promote healthy competition and camaraderie among teams.

But there’s always more room for ServiceNow talent at InSource as the business continues to grow; something that Mark hopes this award will help with.

“We see this award as being able to help us continue to reach out to the ServiceNow community for additional talent. Winning this award is a great advantage for InSource, and we’re going to leverage it to continue to attract top talent in the ServiceNow ecosystem.

“ServiceNow is a very hot product and has been for over ten years; this award will certainly help in finding the technical resources and developers and project managers to join our organization.

And Mark’s final piece of advice for other technology partners looking to showcase their employee value proposition? Toot your own horn.

“I think the Digital Revolution Awards are a wonderful opportunity for organizations to promote what they’re doing in terms of their culture, their people, career development. I would highly encourage all organizations to participate in this process.”
